TIMELY MAINTENANCE PREVENTS DOWNTIME AND EXTENDS THE LIFESPAN

For any type of production machine, timely maintenance is key. In heavy industry and (petro)chemicals, major shutdowns are strategically planned and prepared for months to minimise downtime. There, every minute of downtime costs an enormous amount of money. The same applies in the food industry, yet preventive maintenance is still underutilised and that is a missed opportunity.
Too often, maintenance is reactive, meaning action is only taken after a failure occurs and this often leads to unexpected production stops with all the associated consequences. This can be prevented.

In many cases, quieter periods in the production year are predictable so that is the ideal time for maintenance. A well-prepared plan shortens maintenance time and that’s a great win.
