FoodeQ Engineering has been nominated for this year’s LEF Prize, organised for the third time by De Maatschappij in collaboration with STONE and YIPYIP. In the Growing Organisation category (our category), Kaapse Brouwers took first prize. That was not going to spoil the fun. It was a very successful party at Sociëteit de Maas on 19 October, and it was not entirely a shock that this successful Rotterdam brewery won this Rotterdam prize.
There were four categories and the Sintvoorieder1 Foundation – winner of the LEF Prize for CSR organisation – prompted the following reflection from Marinus de Bruijn. “You don’t always think about it, but there is a lot of hidden poverty also in the Netherlands. Sinterklaas is everybody’s friend, so how can you explain to a child that the good saint is passing your door without dropping off a present? I spoke to the people from the foundation at length and we as FoodeQ have decided to embrace this charity. Our regular copywriter Frank Vester also writes children’s books and we donated 100 picture books from him. Bertje Broekhoest – De Scheetjesvanger – is a very funny little book ánd it is particularly topical because it deals with high gas prices, energy problems etc.”
