Kevin van Loon was born in 1983 and currently lives in Kruisland, though he grew up in Steenbergen. After studying Government Communication & Marketing in Rotterdam, he started his career at Lubron, a specialist in high-quality water treatment systems. “It is a great company where I could have worked until my retirement, but something about FoodeQ pulled me in like a magnet,” Kevin says enthusiastically. “What triggered me was the striking building that suddenly appeared here. I drove past it every day, and this white ‘spaceship’ left such an impression that I felt an irresistible urge to take a look inside. I started Googling, out of curiosity, and that planted the seed. Then, last summer, I spontaneously sent in an open application. I wasn’t looking for a new job, but I knew that if I ever made a switch, it had to be this one.”
Marinus de Bruijn recalls: “Kevin’s enthusiasm was infectious and we clicked instantly. With his skill set, we knew we wanted him on board. We just needed to create the right role for him.” In January 2025, Kevin officially joined FoodeQ to build the inside sales department, freeing up the field sales team to focus on relationship management. Alongside Iris van Dijke, he also drives the marketing strategy.
“I’m the kind of person who keeps an overview amidst the daily chaos,” he explains. Acting as a key support for the sales team and the first point of contact for customers, Kevin has quickly found his place. “I felt at home from day one,” he says with a smile. “There’s no office politics and there are no unnecessary management layers slowing things down. The atmosphere is truly family-like. We’re in this together, and I’m proud to be part of it and contribute to this success story. As an unexpected bonus, I save nearly two hours every day now that I no longer have to commute to Oosterhout. Working in Steenbergen feels like a home game, giving me more time for my family and my many hobbies, such as building parade floats.”
